Other Information
How do I know the size I need for my curtains or roman blinds? We have an easy to follow measuring guide for both curtains and roman blinds.
Where should the bottom of my curtains sit?
Generally speaking curtains can sit just below the window sill, on the floor or be pooled/puddle on the floor. There is no 'norm' and it depends upon the look you are trying to achieve.
Which lining should I choose?
Lined curtains are more preferable as they provide a greater block to sunlight and help to insulate the room better. For all lighter qualities such as faux silks and taffetas we recommend an interlining as this gives extra fullness to the curtains. The different lining we offer are:
- Poly cotton Lining – a polyester and cotton mix lining. (Ivory). This provides a standard lining option and is a great value for money option.
- Cotton Sateen Lining – 100% cotton lining. (white or oyster we match to the main fabric selected). A more luxurious weight and quality than the poly cotton.
- Blackout Lining – 3 pass blackout lining, highly recommended for fabrics with an uneven finish. Also helps to stop light from filtering through the fabric. (white or ivory we match to the main fabric selected)
- Interlining (Bonded bump)– recommended for light fabrics such as faux silks or taffetas as it helps to give the fabrics an improved appearance and heavier handle when the curtains are hung.
Eyelet Curtains, Pencil Pleat Curtains, Pinch Pleat Curtains , Goblet Pleat Curtains, Tab Top Curtains. We also offer panel curtains (using more than one fabric types) on the eyelet curtains. See the buying guide for more information.
How do I know which curtain style to use?
This is purely down to taste. The most popular curtain treatments are Pinch, Eyelet and pencil. See our buying guide for how they look.
What type of quality are the curtains?
Our curtains are made to the highest standard and individually made for each specific requirement. All our curtains are made with weights in the corners to ensure they hang and drape well. There is also no stitching on the face of the curtain and all of our linings offer a more superior finish.
