Black
Black is the colour of mystery, shadows and depth. It also acts as a vital half in any black and white dual design feel – half of the yin and yang, as it were. In this way, black must be considered as a colour that, for curtains, must complement something else in the room and build on the features and associative qualities of other colours. It is great at adding depth and substance to the design of a room, creating a sobering but high quality look.
Whether you’re searching for a rich, deep black, like that of our Opulence design, in order to give your room some gravitas, or you’re looking for black that functions as a highlight, like in our Espirit design, then you’re sure to find something to suit your needs.
Whilst it can be considered a brave choice in some respect, particularly if it dominates the whole fabric, black can also pay dividends for a room aiming for a regal, individual feel. Used cleverly, it doesn’t at all have the ‘gloomy’ look that many people associate with it at all. In fact, designers we have worked with have suggested that many people overlook black to their cost – particularly those with larger rooms where they have the chance to exploit the full range of the colour palette.
